About Charles W. Davis, MD, FAAOS
Dr. Charles W. Davis is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in scoliosis and complex spine surgery. He brings over two decades of surgical experience and a commanding presence in the courtroom to his work as a medical-legal consultant and expert witness. Dr. Davis has provided hundreds of forensic evaluations and is highly experienced in depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and live courtroom testimony. His opinions are known for being thorough, well-documented, and confidently delivered—grounded in both clinical expertise and ethical clarity.
Dr. Davis completed his fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Paul McAfee at St. Joseph Medical Center in Maryland. His medical practice includes general orthopedics, extremity injuries, spinal reconstruction, trauma, and advanced interventional pain procedures. This broad surgical background enables him to evaluate a wide range of injuries with a level of depth and technical accuracy trusted by attorneys, judges, and insurance professionals.
Before entering medicine, Dr. Davis worked in high-stakes environments as a commercial diver, welder, and first-class millwright. These early experiences instilled the precision, discipline, and presence he brings to expert witness work today. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a degree in chemistry, and completed his medical training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He later served as a rescue diver for law enforcement and the FBI, supporting high-risk recovery operations—a testament to his calm under pressure.
Dr. Davis has delivered invited lectures and grand rounds on spinal trauma, cervical stabilization, and minimally invasive spine procedures. He has also presented at international medical symposia and serves as a consulting expert in both plaintiff and defense cases.
Today, Dr. Davis leads Forensic Experts, offering ironclad medical opinions supported by extensive orthopedic and neurological examinations, detailed documentation, and expert-level communication tailored to legal audiences. Whether in a deposition or on the witness stand, Dr. Davis brings credibility, clarity, and confidence to every case.
